Skins being lost during the update to the new client

My friend has played league of legends for about 6 years now and since the update of the client, he has found that most of his owned skins are showing that he no longer owns skins that he has purchased in the past. Can we get riot to make sure that all summoners are keeping their skins and purchases throughout the update.
