Get a Ban for failed champ select, screen was black

So I accepted a match queue & the champ select screen was black. I then receive a 6 minute ban because i failed to select a champ. I had the friends list open at the time the queue popped. I accept the queue and nothing, black screen. Kind of sucks to have a problem like this in the game after how many years?
