[Gameplay] Summoner Spell and Item Usage of the Intermediate AI Bots

Did the Intermediate bots get downgraded at some point? I swear they used to use wards, and bots like Galio could flash-ult. Now they never flash or ward. | ask.fm/RiotGhostcrawler

Hello there!

I had originally emailed this as a question/suggestion to support and was instructed to post to the boards instead. I'll just paraphrase my ticket.

I am wondering if the intermediate bots not using some of their summoner spells and items is intentional or not.

A couple months ago the summoner spell Flash had been announced as broken (see link) and has since then been fixed (thank you btw). There are other summoners/items that the bots are equipped with but never use even if they had done so in the past. Are those also broken? Examples are Teleport and warding with Totem/Sightstone. The only bots that ward at all now are ones like Jax to ward-hop.

If their use is intentionally disabled I suggest replacing the unused spells/items with something more impactful so it's not just a wasted spell or item slot. If these things are actually broken too, will there be any plans to fix them?

I should also point out that my concerns are limited to Summoner's Rift. There may or may not be similar concerns with Twisted Treeline but that is something I have extremely little knowledge of.

PS: Sorry if this isn't the appropriate board. If this isn't the correct place someone please let me know and I will move it to the correct board.

I really wish Riot would focus a lot more on bots than they do currently. I absolutely understand that a majority of their concern is PVP, and rightfully so, but I feel it is severely neglected. There are several things I think they should update, even if this includes adding an additional level of difficulty.

  • Include all champions in bot selection pool
  • Give them masteries, level 18 at minimum to include keystone.
  • Give them runes (if they don't already)
  • Have them build items dynamically to counter damage and resistances.
  • Have them select intelligent team compositions.
  • Improved mechanics, including waiting to engage when escape abilities are on cooldown or champion is oom.
  • Better lane swapping/rotation
  • Objective control, including contesting Red, Blue, Scuttle, Dragons, Rift Herald, and Baron.

There are many more, but here is a big one

  • Jungling!!!

I absolutely understand that this would be very difficult to incorporate, but I genuinely believe that Riot can do it.
