Teemo NO Shroom damage to Baron?

Teemo's shrooms will "go off" from ALL monsters hitting them, including dragon. But baron will not activate teemo shrooms, even if shrooms are placed directly onto baron, or edge of baron monster. Is this intentional or a glitch with the new baron?
