Matchmaking is neither fair, nor working as intended.

Four times going to Gold V promos...

The linked image shows my four times now (and probably a fifth time by the 12th of November) that I've made it to promos for Gold V. I've had, after the 3rd time going to promos, 2 free wins, and was not able to make it thanks to afk, and an int-ing mid lane. I have played matches where I do well, and badly. Frankly, I don't appreciate that I have to hit a ~50-60% win rate to get to promos, only to get punished with losses I can't actually offset until my win rate drops to 49%.

I won 6 of 10 initial placement games, and never faced a gold player: I placed into Bronze IV. I have been in Bronze II, I, Silver V twice; Silver IV, III, II, I 4 times, and to Gold V promos four times.

At this moment, my win rate in the last 20 games is...60%...I just failed out of promos the 4th time (with an overall of 51% win rate). I'll drop to 49% win rate, and then be given teammates who are so good, that they don't need me at the keyboard to win the game.

Why play the game? I'm competitive, I like to see how good I am...but in the context of a match-up that is genuinely a 'good fight'. This isn't even close. Matching someone up with useless teammates is not a balancing method. I had a Gold IV adc who just inted starting at level 5. We had been doing well, no one could figure out why he was tilted. He was the 'best' player on our team by rating/skill. Proved to be the loss of the game, with a bad attitude. I've had 2 times now where a guy in placements, who had reached rank 30 in the last 30 days was in my promo games...surprise, they didn't know what was going on...I've arrived at a place where it isn't fun to play. I feel compelled because I've made it to Gold before, but it is just not enjoyable to know the outcome of my promos based on my win rate.

I'm at a point where I just want my money back, so I can at least get something, since a fair matchup isn't a priority for Riot; Ranked is meant to be an approximation of a fair matchup; However, punishing players for their win rate by simply giving them inept teammates does not come close to 'fixing' the 'problem'. If someone has earned a promo 4 times, and failed to ascend, and there is evidence they didn't play their absolute worst (which I didn't in all cases)...why wouldn't they be able to make it?

The system isn't balancing in an appropriate manner.

I feel you. I had to get to Gold three times before I actually promoted, then I actually did pretty well. It was extra difficult, because I main support. My overall win % was above 50% for the first time ever. Games were close, but fun, even the losses. Then it's like a switch went off. Now I'm on a huge loss streak and about to be demoted back to Silver. I've tried playing my mains with 54-57% win rates, trying new champs, trying new roles, but nothing changes. I lose no matter what. Great KDA, honored, high KP, I still lose. Every. Single. Game. Playing the way I did to climb, it would make sense, statistically, for me to remain idle at the current tier. Then I'd either have to learn to carry, or be hard stuck. Instead, I'm sliding back down. The matchmaking is not balanced. Picking teams based on MMR (win rate) isn't consistent. If I'm Gold, every player in my game should be Gold, give or take a tier.

2/2 split in my 5th gold promos: https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2905314277/39343699?tab=overview

Every lane losing. Every. I can't fix that.

It could be bad luck. It also sounds like you're tilted now. You seem to either have promo anxiety or otherwise are assuming your Promo games are losses before you even start.

You get 2 free wins? And your last post said you've lost 7 times? So you've lost your last 15 promo games in a row, 3 of 4 before that, and 3 of 5 before that. That's either insanely bad luck, or just a little bad luck (say losing 9 of 12 for the first 3 series) followed by your own attitude costing you winnable games.

My match history, as of now will show you, teammates losing in at least 2/5 roles. In all my promos (sometimes I'm one of them, sometimes I'm not).

8 Promos for Gold V, a total of 24 losses in promos, 2 unranked in my promos, several afk, 2 inters...at what point, does getting to promos, ACTUALLY guarantee you the promotion? I feel like I've earned it at that point.

Or maybe, as recompense for my lack of Gold opponents in my 6/4 placement matches, or the fact that with 6/4 I placed into Bronze IV.

Perhaps, you'd like to explain why I have only gotten to play a handful of matchups that weren't extremely one-sided (both in my favor, and against)? Maybe, Riot (anyone from Riot), would like to explain why we're patching in the light-stage show at the beginning of matches, something no one actually cares about, instead of fixing matchmaking?

I feel like maybe, after earning 8 promos, you should just...go to the next bracket, since you've earned the opportunity to go there so regularly.

If any of that, is too complicated/hard...I'd just like my money back, so I can move on to trying to find a game with a more fair matchmaking regime.
