Updating Again

So I was playing a Thresh game 2 games after I updated my client to patch 8.10, then 10 mins or later in the game it crashed. I can't go close league so I decided to restart my laptop. When I tried to open league to continue my game, right as I was logging in, it tried to update again. When it was about 80% finish it said something about a backup. I decided to shut down my laptop for a few hours but when I opened league again it said something about League of Legends is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. How do I fix this? Do I reinstall the game? Also do I get a time punishment because I was forced to leave the game?
