Been playing Thresh off and on, and I've been trying to use Relic Shield, but the proc chooses when it wants to go off. I've had times where it works, but most of the time there's no response. I've been standing on top of the minion thinking melee range for it to happen, and nada. Stand max range and it'll go off. Doesn't seem to choose based on range, and the fellow laner is always close to me when attempting to heal them.
Thresh is a RANGED champ, RS execute is a MELEE ability. This has been posted I don't know how many times and responded to even more.
Melee range for Relic shield means using a melee champion.
Thresh is not a melee champion, so he doesn't get the execute damage from the Relic line. He does get the heal, as that works regardless of being a melee or ranged champion.
The logic behind getting relic on Thresh is that Thresh has an innate power-hit built into his kit he can use to finish off minions with relative ease, and Thresh benefits a lot from building tanky.
Either way it's still a bug as the execute damage still happens sometimes, and the only time the heal has worked for me is with the execute. I've killed minions next to the other laner thinking the heal may go off and nothing. Unless the execute damage happens, there hasn't been any healing.
As the other people have told, Thresh is ranged and thus the execute passive doesn't proc, you HAVE to last hit the minion for the charge to be consumed (Flay's passive helps with that).
