Firewall issues without a firewall

I don't have a firewall on my mac at the moment, since it is brand new, that I know of as well as this issue never happening before. But I had a weird feeling today, and not feeling good, decided to goof around in a bot game. However, after champ select the load screen was just a black screen saying that I could not connect to the server because of my firewall. I don't have a firewall that I know of but it refused to let me join and show the load screen. My friend told me to close the client but I was then stuck on the black screen with everything else working in the background normally (had a stream up and could hear it playing just fine like usual when I play league). I had to hold the power button to shut down my computer to get out. I have no idea what happened and it scared me. It didn't even give a crash report, just black screen I could not physically leave no matter what.

First off, formatting with linebreaks helps with reading comprehension.

Second, it's not you, it's the riot servers having an issue with adding you to the game. The reason it says "firewall" is because the symptoms are the same.

Third, Riot has a bagillion bugs with their mac client and are racing against snails to get it fixed. It'll happen in time, but that is the status right now.

I'd like to add that when I was finally able to get back into League, it said that I had left the game and if I'd like to reconnect. I tried and got the same issues. I was able to force quit the load screen this time but... I can't physically play League it seems. My aram friends and myself are all upset over this. What is going on?

Yeah? Okay, I guess I just need to hold out till they fix this then. Oh well. :/

In hopes that it helps:

I experience this issue in about 1/10 games, and I am on Windows 8. I am connected through a router, and I can say port forwarding, disabling firewall, shutting down avast, and closing other internet-using applications will not solve this issue.

Please Rito, you just lost me my first game in a series. ;_; I was on fire. Secret thought bubble: Riot doesn't want me to get out of silver even if they have to chop my connection into tiny pieces to see it never happen.

Hi Everyone,

This is a currently know issue that Riot have acknowledged and are working on. You can find this post, and somer suggested fixes, here: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/help-support/gTWoNHAL-what-the-hell-is-this-firewall-error-after-champ-select-why-cant-i-connect-to-the-game

Some people have also had luck simply clicking "x" instead of retry, then reconnecting to the game - this might be worth a try.

Unfortunately if none of these fixes work for you, it's a case of waiting it out until Riot find the route cause and resolve the issue.
