Yasuo Windwall vs Annie Stun

Let's say I'm playing Yasuo into Annie at midlane. Annie has 4 stacks and her stun is ready. She throws her q at me and I block it with my windwall. The ability damage gets blocked, but Annie keeps her stun passive because the ability did not technically "land" on me. Is this an intended interaction? As an avid Yasuo player, this is incredibly annoying to play against, and in my personal opinion, it would make more sense if the Annie stun procced on spell CAST rather than spell HIT.
