Terrible Game Start-Up Procedure

So right now I'm sitting here tearing my hair out because I've been trying to reconnect to my ranked game for 20 minutes. A big contributer to this anger is that if I lose this, I get demoted to bronze, but the main reason is that every time I click "reconnect", I get a black screen. Once, it said something about an "unknown error", but nothing thereafter. Another thing is that if i cannot reconnect, I may just be permabanned, because I went afk twice this month. Please, can this error get fixed so nobody else has it, or at least can riot be understanding of my woes?

EDIT: i read the error sign again, it says an "unknown directx error" and that my video card is outdated, though i just played a game 20 minutes ago.
