RANKED (ELO) Broken Again!

So, I think the ELO is broken once again.

First off, a Season 6 Diamond 5 player, is placed in diamond 1. Next, a Gold 5 player is placed in Platinum 3. And me (Bakka) ended last season as Diamond 5, yet am placed in Platinum 3 wondering what the hell is going on along with a lot of other people.

RIOT, please explain.

EDIT: Solved, just people playing with higher MMR friends to cheat their way up the system.

Alrighty, elo nor mmr is broken. It's a soft reset, meaning that almost all players lost ranking after their provisional games. The players who placed higher either got quite lucky, or duoed with someone with quite a high mmr, and won games. Also, don't trust the MMR fully on websites like op.gg, they're only estimates.
