Champion select "froze" on previous pick, could not choose my champion.

Was queued up for normal draft with a friend. Everything was going fine, until the person who was locking in before me chose their champion. The countdown timer for their lock in went all the way to 0 and did not progress for me. I did not get the chance to select or lock in my champion, and it stayed on that screen after it booted us from the queue. A friend of mine had a very similar issue earlier, though I don't know the specifics.
