Champion Select Team Chat

On multiple occasions since this latest patch i have not been able to read team chat during champ select, i'm not lagging through the selection process or anything and in game chat works just fine but during champ select when people are calling what roles they'd prefer and discussing bans i can't seem to read anything but my message gets sent to them because my friend in duo queue would talk on curse voice with me.
