I just used Zyra in my recent game against a yi I noticed a delay when hitting him with it. As he is running towards annie i actualy hit yi with the grasping vines. When i did he also used alpha strike and hit her killing annie. It was a split second inbetween the time i hit yi and him using alpha strike. when he reappeared the vines was still on him. now is it feezble to actualy hit annie in that time span when annie was to far away with no minnions to actualy close the distance against annie to hit with the alpha strike while still being wrapped up in the grasping vines.

i have no source, just experience from playing lots of yi:

there is a slight delay for alpha strike to take place, once you activate it....the only way for alpha strike to not complete is when you lose vision of your target. This allows yi to dodge things like blitz's Knockup, xin's knockup etc. he'll take the knock up...just wont be target able during its duration.

So in your case, he activated alpha strike before he got hit by your E and ended up teleporting to his target like normal but still retained his root status he got from your E.

Its not a bug....its how alpha strike has always been like.

Yi had already locked onto Annie and was running towards her, as soon as he got into alpha-strike range he did it, you just happened to hit him in the delay that he started Alphastrike, this isn't a glitch. The glitch may be alpha-strikes range but you don't have screen shots so we can't know anymore.
