Lux's ult can't hit people when backing?
I went on a game with friends, when suddenly, one of my friends who plays Lux ulted GP, but didn't kill him.

I know there are certain spells that dont work on the final second of an enemy's recall, but I forget if damage is one of those mechanics
Lux's ult is one of the worst abilities about hit-box not matching what you're seeing due to the way the camera is angled. It's most prevalent in side entrances to the river, like where GP was. It happens more than it should, but the recall is an irrelevant factor.
If it were the thing where you still recall even though it should cancel, in that case, I'm pretty sure he would have popped up in the fountain dead. it's happened a couple times to me that way.
Its not specifically a bug with lux. for whatever reason when you have like less than a second left of your recall, it cant be canceled. and in some cases you can still take damage.
