Jinx 'W' Going Through Champs with No Effect

I was playing a game as Jinx and I started off with my 'W', but it became a huge disadvantage later game because I landed plenty of W's early game...well, should have. I hit champs on bot many times, but the 'W' went right through them and didn't make a sound like it even hit when it clearly hit many times and the enemy champs were completely unaffected. It started working later in the game, but wouldn't in the beginning. Unfortunately, I don't have a video of this, but wish I did, but my computer isn't able to support it while playing League. However I figured I would mention it since it was definitely frustrating!
