Sion moves toward enemy base. no matter what I do

I was playing ranked for my first game post 5.2 patch, and I tried playing Sion. Immediately when I tried to go to lane, he went mid. The travel line sent him directly to the enemy base. He would not stop and it gave the enemy team a kill. I eventually reloaded the client to fix the issue, but when I got back to lane, GP was already lvl 7. I know a lot of details here are not relevant to the issue, but I am also venting. Has anyone else experienced this issue on other champs or on Sion in particular?
