Need some friendly tips about Zed

Dear community,

I've recently picked up Zed Zed and am going through the phase where I'm falling in love with the champion.

I'm open to any general tips and advice. I did, however, have a specific question as well.

When I hit my ult on someone, I always seem to run into the problem of them either flashing or using an escape, after which I have a hard time landing my Q and/or e, rendering me both useless and vulnerable.

What is a way to get around this?

I looked around online and couldn't seem to find an answer; maybe I'm the only one who struggles with this ):

Thank you in advance!

This forum is to report bugs not ask for advice, but all you have to do is time your ult correctly. If you ult when they are about to summoner 4 , it will follow them. If you don't time it right then, well that sux.

Wrong board to post this on.

As for tips though....

In most cases, you just swap back to your ult shadow and let them go. Zed's ult is on a relatively short cooldown. You can get about 2~4 ults (depending on ability level) off a freshly flashed target before it comes off cooldown.

It's more on part of the person you're ulting. If they react properly, they can flash away right when you appear, thus putting them in front of you. The way you can fix it is either two things:

  • Flash, then use your Living Shadow + Shadow Slash (slows), Living Shadow (Swap) + Shuriken + Auto (a few times if the death mark hasn't been already placed over their head from those) and then swap back to your first shadow (the ult one).

  • Or (this one won't get as close and may deal slightly less damage in exchange for not flashing) do the above, but not close the gap with flash. It's the same kind of thing though, Shadow Slash for slow, swap places, shuriken (or do it when you throw your shadow out. It depends on distance and if you can hit both or just one) auto, whatever else (ignite, blade of, hydra active, etc).

There's a couple other techniques you can use. Look up RedMercy on Youtube. He's a Diamond player that excels Assassin champions and mains champs like Talon, Zed and Irelia (not an assassin, but uses her a lot). Gives quite a few tips and tricks to help using them.
