Issue with Client/Game

When I load into the client when I select [Play] I get stuck on [Attempting to reconnect. Exit instead.]

And when/if I get into a game it immediately freezes then after 5 or so minutes crashes. It was working fine 2 days ago, why is it screwy now?

Specs: Mac OS High Sierra Version 10.13.6 MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB graphics. And please no "Mac sucks PC master race", "Get a PC instead", "You're gaming on a mac so you deserve it" comments, I know macs aren't meant specifically for gaming but i've been using this for League for the past 3 or so years and it just now is acting wonky.
