[client][crash] freezing in champ selecta and wont let me pick a champ

So I was sitting in a lobby with my friends playing ranked and this has happened twice tonight, where during champ select, the timer of the person before me reaches zero. Now nothing happens, and presumably it would be my turn to pick a champ but it never would get off of the previous champ selection. Then it would say (after my friends said it reached zero for me) that ive been disconnected. Both times my internet was fine and didn't have any problems there so it couldn't be me disconnecting from the internet. As soon as I am back in it says that a summoner has failed to select a champ and ive been returned to the que, but my friends are saying that it says it was my fault. Also the timer to find a match is going on as well as the music as if I HAD been put back in que. But after I back out and rejoin my friends ive been BANNED. Now if this rarely happened I wouldn't be so upset but this has happened twice tonight. RIOT please help me out here. the first time it happened I was kicked out of my promos (was 1-1 about to get to silver 4) now its given me a 15 min ban. I don't wanna be scared to play ranked for fear of getting glitched during champ select.
