Annie's q disappears when she dies

When Annie dies right after throwing her q the fireball simply vanishes. This can leave players of Annie in a close squish in a bit of a sour predicament. You've just died in a close 1v1, and the q that would have made your complete loss into a draw suddenly disappears before your eyes, and your target simply walks away.

Is this a bug? I can't fathom it being a feature malus. I doesn't makes sense. Technically, the ball of fire has already coalesced and left her hands and it should continue its trajectory path. But it does not.
