game cannot start after champion select

I had selected and as I had finished my champion select it was as though I had disconnected from the game. the reconnect button came up so I tried to click it but nothing happened. I tried multiple times and even restarted my client but the reconnect button still did nothing. no one else in the game had the same problem. This is the first time I have used the new client on my computer.
