Chat window position doesnt save.
Players shouldnt have to jump through a hoop this extreme just for a simple QoL of having one of the only UI frames that can actually be moved.I play with my Minimap to the Left, as having comfort from SC, WC, and Dota. When the minimap is set in this way, the chat is in a awkward spot naturally. That could be a problem, and a nuisance if you have to adjust the chat window, every single match.
From the looks of it there are a few files to note. '%LOL%\DATA\CFG\Defaults\SettingsToPersist.json', '%LOL%\Config\PersistedSettings.json', and '%LOL%\Config\Game.cfg'. of which ill refer to as SettingsToPersist.json, PersistedSettings.json, and Game.cfg respectfully. PersistedSettings.json, and the game.cfg files seem to be unalterable, as it gets re-written every time a game starts to load. And coincidentally both have specified lines involving the placement of this frame. However from what I find from other posts online, is that the way to make this work is through the SettingsToPersist.json (which makes sense with its name). It just doesnt make any sense cause from the looks of it, it really doesnt accept anything but Boolean strings.
All the posts I see that involve some 'FIX' seem to be outdated, and I'd assume that it ties into the release of this new Client. Players shouldnt have to find this fix to begin with, but then to even moreso worsen the issue by removing even the ability to mod this issue away, is just absurd.
I dont see WHY Riot decided that the chatframe position was needed to be tied to some server validation or whatever. This should not be steps to resolve a simple issue, like this is the position of a very very crucial frame of the functional UI.
IF anyone has a link to a working fix for forcing the Chat frames position, please drop a link. I'd love to give it a try. [zombie-brand-facepalm]
