Scoreboard bug/change

It seems to me that when you press tab to access the scoreboard the text from the scoreboard (KDA, level, and summoner names) all show up instantly like always. On the other hand the background, item images, champion icons, etc. all show up after a short delay. I hadn't noticed it until someone mentioned it and now i find it very frustrating because i like quickly pressing tab, getting the information i needed, and going back to the game. I unfortunately haven't been able to test if there is a way to shut this off in the settings yet because the NA servers are down.
