Border disappeared!?

I ended with silver last season and got the silver border. This season, I got silver again and climbed to gold only to find that my silver border had disappeared a few days ago. I had climbed to gold around 2-3 weeks ago. I want to know why my silver border disappeared. Any help would be much appreciated.
