Level 2 unit demoting to level 1

Hey i have just encountered a really weird bug while watching a stream. The streamer was playing tft and had 2 lissandras on a bench, one with an item on her. Upon finding third level 1 lissandra in the shop, he bought her and a level 2 liss appeared. Nonetheless after about 1 second, he briefly clicked on her ( picked her up and put her back on the same spot on the bench) - this is where the weird stuff happened. The level 2 liss transformed into a level 1 lissandra, while also losing her item. It remained like that for the rest of the game. He also got no gold when this happened.
