Yasuo + Shojin doesn't work

Yasuo's ult is not working with shojin's. The mana is still locked and doesn't let you get any mana from the ult's auto attacks.

I was confused for a second when he was talking about Yasuo with mana, but now I have to try shoo-in Yasuo, sounds overpowered, how has nobody done this yet?
