TFT Matchup still not working?

Hey guys Is it me or the TFT matchup still isnt really "random"? (Even after the fix in the 9.16 patch) Every game, at some point in the mid-game, even if there are 5 or more opponents left, I face the same player every other round (this way, I often play most of my rounds against just 2 players). If the chance of getting the same person every other round is still that high, the 9.16 solution doesn't make a lot of sense, or does it? I think we should have the same chance of facing EVERY player of the lobby, whereas now most games feel kinda binary, going 1010101 always against the same 2 people even tho there are a lot more players still in the lobby.
