Is There a Guardians buff bug or it is intended?

When i play TFT for the past week i notice something in the game the Guardian Buff disappear from the other Pieces when the** Guardian** die. I wanna know is that intentional or is it a bug? Because if it is intentional Guardians is really useless in the TFT.
