Item dissapear during changeover

During the transition between battles, very near to that time, I sold one of my champs to get the item. Item was s l o w l y heading over to my crib. Changeover happened while it was in transit. Item dissapeared. Actually lost the match because of that.. :(

Side note, can you guys make the items float over like at least twice as fast. It's pretty tilting with the little amount of time we're given to begin with.
