Can you shot call?-
Yes, I use a flow of information based shot calling strategy which has 3 parts: Vocalize, Strategize, Execute.
-
Vocalization - Convey the current state of the game. Consists of standard information like MIA's, ward coverage, jungle timers, summoner spells, ultimates, and player health/mana but also lane-specific strategic information like "I'm trading better/worse than him",
"I have an offensive/defensive power advantage/disadvantage right now", "A large wave is coming to my tower/hitting their tower", "I'm free to roam". All of this information should only pertain to what is going on right now and it all feeds into:
-
Strategize - Using the flow of information calls are developed. Choosing a Main Objective - "Top tower first", "Dragon is next", "Blue buff steal", "First blood in bot lane", "Mid inhib" - or choosing a Mode of Play - "Keep top lane down", "1-1-3 split", "Keep the towers up", "Open up the map". When choosing a Main Objective and/or Mode of Play, the sacrifices are taken into account and chosen. What can we lose to gain X? The Main Objectives and Modes are what change less often, and are based heavily on Team Input. Once they are selected we move into:
-
Execute - This is where standard shot calling takes over. The Execution Steps change constantly and are always geared towards getting the Main Objective. While the Main Objective stays constant, a series of paths towards getting that objective are attempted until the best opportunity presents itself. Execution is where true team play lies and requires everyone to be listening and thinking about where they fit into the Execution Steps. As an example -
We're moving toward a split-push mid/late game. Split pushing is facilitated by either moving all enemies out of one lane or allowing a strong duelist to 1v1 in a lane. "Open the map" becomes the Main Objective. This means we are either creating a vision network that supports safe map-wide movement or we are forcing enemy concentration at particular objectives. Either way, the map is now "open" for a player to split push. Execution Steps would then vary based on Team Vocalization to make choices like kill or kite, force or fake dragon/baron, ward for safety or ward for picks, what secondary lane we choose to pressure and so on.
What your strengths are-
Raw understanding of this game. Like you, I've played league for 5 seasons now and I know every macro-strategy there is. I also have a pretty good understanding of almost all champion match-ups. I've seen all the meta's and I know what is cheese and what is strategy.
What your weaknesses are -
Vision denial. I don't like the current vision system, it doesn't fit my style. I tend to hold on to my red trinket for too long and forget to upgrade it.
Anything i should know about you? -
Solo Q is a joke these days. People don't know the basics. I do not believe in mechanics, I believe in strategy. The vast majority of players will only ever have average mechanics (that's why its called average) and mechanics are not multiplicative - if you put 5 average mechanical players on the same team you don't get a combined Excellent Mechanics Megazord. In direct opposition, the vast majority of players can achieve an excellent understanding of game strategy. People are always better at knowing than doing. And until everyone on the server also has an excellent understanding of strategy - You're going to beat higher mechanical players with your strategy.
That said, I am a decent mechanical player anyway so we straight.
Why are you applying for this team?
I want to play games that aren't decided by errors, they're decided by strategic choices.
