I am a silver player looking to join a ranked 3s team to try and climb to gold or higher this season. I have a very wide champion pool. I am from California and am most active on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends.

Join the 3v3 channel and ask for silver/unranked people. That's the best way to find teammates. Also, let me give you some advice if you intend to push for gold:

you should play apc, that's the only position where your champion pool has some god tier champs. Champion selection is MUCH more important in 3s than 5s because of the faster, more aggressive and skirmish heavy style.
learn the meta. There is no laning phase or last hitting in 3s - you push, roam and control altars to get a lead and then destroy towers and end as fast as possible. You should aim for games to average under 20 min, 20 min is late game in 3s. Also, don't build time based items like RoA or Tear, they take too long to ramp up.
learn when to FF and move on, a few kills in 3s is a much bigger deal than 5s because of the map size. If you get 3-5 kills down the game is basically over unless you're playing silver teams that throw really hard, gold and up generally won't throw that hard. It's better to move on and get more games in than drag a losing game out to 35 min when you can't win but are just getting slowly choked out.
watch the map - all the time. The enemy is always is that bush, it's dangerous to go alone. The way you win in 3s is by lane pressure and grouping more effectively, be prepared to get frustrated in 5s when you get used to teamwork and communication because team 3s if you make gold+ will ruin it for you.

Finally, maybe most importantly - don't lie about your MMR or ask for above your skill in he 3v3 chat and don't buy a team. It's a waste of your time (and money) and you won't gain anything except grief. People are really picky about MMR because losing to low MMR teams will tank your MMR and if you're winning vs low MMR teams (as a high MMR player) you gain nothing.

For Apc focus on: Annie, Lissandra, Morganna, Kayle and Orianna. Those are all solid picks. Also Syndra, Lulu, Karma and Zyra are amazing. Usually apc starts double dorans and rushes wooglets now that black fire torch is gone, but I main top so you'll have to ask an apc main about build.

I was platinum last season in 3s and gold s3, it's fun when you get some decent teammates. Oh, last thing - don't play blind normals, it's a completely different game and will teach you bad habits. It's like trying to at solo queue in ranked team 5s, it doesn't work...
