Ranked... WTH

So I just turned lvl 30 with only about 80 normal wins under my belt. I played my first two ranked games and won! but my third....... WHY THE HECK WAS I PLACED IN A GOLD5 RANKED GAME?!?!?!

Early in provisionals if you are winning, it tends to place you against higher level competition. This is to check if you are on par with them. You should be happy you are being placed with gold+, it allows you to assess how far you have come.

Winning against gold 5+ as a new player is a daunting task, and you really shouldn't be playing ranked after just hitting level 30... If you had more normal games under your belt, you would have better rune pages and a bigger champion pool. Also, you would know how to go against more matchups.

When first getting into ranked the provisionals are all random. You can be placed with and against a variety of players.

I get that you get placed in higher ranked games the more you win but being placed in gold after only winning 2 seems a bit ridiculous.
