[Game mode concept] Faction War:

Think of this as a new type of MOBA. A MOBA with a bit of RPG. A storyline that is driven by millions players could be awesome! All Riot has to do is to shape the game mode. Top players in each "Faction" would be the leaders. Another part if this storyline is that whatever decision the community makes, adds to the story in the LoL Website, like a brand new "Journal of Justice" (e.g. September 25 Demacian forces successfully stood their ground against the invading Noxian Army...[insert an awesome story afterwards]; December 23, Noxian Commanders have decided to...[insert a suitable story])

Stories that are made could include and portray the lore of each champions. Like when Riven was from Noxus who defected her faction.

Another thing that I want to point out is that there are tons of story that maybe a majority of players don't know, myself included. Going to the league of legends wiki, there are tons of names we are not familiar with such as 'General Boram Darkwill' 'Cpt. Morgan Rackham' and others.

But this won't be an ordinary story, because it would need a better system in order to manage it SUGGESTIONS (that I have in mind):

Faction Mode ~ all champions are faction restricted (i.e. Ionia is only restricted with Master Yi, Lee Sin, Akali and other champions tied within the faction, etc.) Because of the lack of champion in some of the faction, I would also suggest that instead of 8 factions, there would be two factions that unite multiple factions into one (e.g. Demacia, Ionia, Piltover, and Bandle City as the first Faction; Noxus, Zaun, and Bilgewater a probable second Faction)

Competitive pick ~ It is a BIT similar to draft pick and blind pick. But there are no bans. Summoner 1 from both teams will pick a champion but they won't see the champion being selected, after Summoner 1 from both teams are locked in, their champions are revealed and Summoner 2 from both teams will pick a champion but they won't see the champion being picked and so on~~.

Pledge Allegiance ~ Players who are at least LvL 20, are given the opportunity to pledge their allegiance to one of the given factions. Players are not able to just suddenly change their Faction whenever they please. A suitable amount of IP would be the cost to change. Players who change factions will receive a penalty of some sort. (Maybe a small debuff?)

Faction Badges and Icons ~Demacian/Ionian/Yordle/Noxian/Piltover's/Etc. Elite (win 100 games while pledged in this faction) War Commando (Win games while having the most kills) War Hero (Win games 5 in a row while having a high KDA ratio). Combat Medic (Heal a total of 50,000 HP). Coordination (Have 5,000 assists).

Faction Leaders ~ Acts like a Ranked League but instead of everybody, it is within the Faction. The top 30(can be changed)players within the faction are the leaders and they are responsible with interacting with the other members of the Factions. The Faction Leaders are the one who are deciding the Faction's movements. The Faction's movement Lasts one week and who ever the Faction that has the most victories wins the movement (e.g. Demacia destroys Noxus' defense! Demacia gains a territory!). Victories in a row will yield tons of rewards (Ionia is on a winning streak!, for their unparalleled triumphs, each pledged summoner receives 100 IP!).

Map ~ There won't be any maps, but probably a re-skin of existing maps (Anyone remember season 1 and season 2?). Valoran might be big enough for this mode. And this game mode could maximize the story and lore of the unpopular characters within the game. Valoran would be a big territorial map that every faction would fight for. And every territory has a corresponding resource bonus for the faction who is controlling it. For example: Demacia has captured a national armory. Demacian minions gain 2% bonus damage. Decisions could be made by forums and the polls. And maybe notifications would be like this. For Example: The Demacian leaders has come to decide to fight for the control of Shurima Desert which is controlled by Zaun. Then Zaun leaders will decide on what to do: Defend. Then the fight will go on for one week in Summoners Rift. And the Faction with most wins would win a battle with specific victories/defeats: Close Victory/Defeat- a result that differs within 0-20% Decisive Victory/Definite Defeat- a result that differs within 21-40% Triumphant Victory/Crushing Defeat- a result that differs within 41-100%

Minions ~ Each faction will have their own style of minions not like the normal minions, nor the minions in Despicable Me (please laugh at my punny joke). Although they are different, their stats are probably the same. These minions are pledged soldiers who fight to the death for their Faction.

Items ~ New items won't be simply implemented in the game. Items should also have a lore itself. Similar to how Ezreal found the old Wriggle's Lantern (RIP in peace wriggle cri). Another thing is that notable players' summoner names could be implemented in an item lore, or the item name itself.

Rewards ~ To encourage summoners to play the game to their fullest, yielding deserving rewards for the summoner's hard work is a great idea. But those who stood idle and had a 0-0-0 score won't receive 500 ip because they did nothing nor a score of 1-4-0. Instead, the system would take a closer look on KDAs, and objective kills and assists. Objective kills and assists could be added to KDA's. Maybe a new base could be KIlls = +1 Deaths = -1 Assists = +1 Objective kill and assist (dragons, towers, inhibs and barons) = +1 So a player who has a score of 1-9-5 + 3 dragons + 4 towers + 2 inhibs = Battle ratio of 6.0 His KDA seemed like he was a feeder, but he stole dragons, took towers and backdoored inhibs. Which are game changers. This would be fair and it could also encourage players to still win via objectives. Those who won more than 67% of their games are included in receiving a reward. Summoners must at least play 5 games with 67% win rate in order to be included in the rewarding ceremony. But still those who had 32 wins and 4857 losses won't count .

Crests ~ As I've seen several crests in League of Legends wiki, this is also a good way to use them. Crests could be either given as badges or Summoner Icons. These could also level up like ranks in the military, but these rank symbols would have custom symbols depending on the faction a summoner has chosen.

This suggestion could help lessen stress and flaming and instead unite the community under their chosen Faction and work as one. Everything stated above won't be final and are subject to change in order to balance the game concept. As I have been thinking lately, the wins and losses might be also in conflict due to maybe some 75% of the players would stick to one faction by default because of OP champions. As a counter measure, I would like to ask the community to think of something on how players can be equally spread among the factions as much as possible. One thing that I thought of was to put exclusive features in each factions.
