Proposal of reduce bots in TT/dom, and increase new players

Ok its me again. This time I have a full proposal.

I was a WoW player. I finally quit the game because of the following reason:

  1. In 10-20 players dungeons, only players who have already completed the dungeons once (and with good gears) were allowed to join the team -> hey so how can I get my first completion and gears?

  2. Since items in lv 15-80 dungeons are useless, no one bother forming a team to play it -> Even I wanna try out every map, I cannot find a team.

  3. Because points 1 & 2, I am stuck at the 10 lv 80 dungeons. One day I lost my interest and I quit.

I think LoL is facing the simular issues at the moment. As and old player, I will nearly stop playing solo rank every season after I achieved diamond V - because I know it is the best rank I can get. At first I will play some normal games in SR. But you know, after 100+ games in SR with >50% winrates, your games will become so competitive even in normal game mode. Then I try to play TT or Dom, hoping to play so causal games in alternative map, and I find that the bots are overwhelming - and I dont wanna play co-op AI.

So what can I do? I open a smurf and bully those new players. Guess what? Every game I meet another 6-7 players who are smurfed. All we do are killing the noobs in opponent teams as much as possible, and request so harsh on ally noobs.

So now you can see how ignoring Dom/TT harm the game: Elite Players -> Rank Bottleneck -> Normal SR -> Boring -> Alternative Map -> Botting -> Boring -> Smurf -> Bullying noobs -> Fun Noobs -> Co-op v AI -> Boring -> Normal SR -> Raped -> Not Fun -> Alternative Map -> Botting + No Players -> Boring -> Quit

So how can we improve the playing environment of alternative map? **

  1. Introduce Daily Mission** - if a player completed 2 games in SR + 2 games in Dom + 2 games in TT + 2 games in AH in one day, his/her mission completed and a giftbox with 100 IP will pop-up. It don't need to be many IP, players just enjoy completing the given mission. And by doing so, player based will not be split, just more activities from each players.

2. New reporting system on Botting - Allow an report option "Botting" end-game. If a player is reported "Botting" in 5 games in one day (no matter which map), the system will automatically assigned him/her to "BO5", of which he/she cannot get any IP/XP within 24 hours unless he/she have 3 out of 5 games in SR without further botting report. If he/she win the "BO5", a "congradulation giftbox" will pop-up and the entitled IP/XP during "BO5" will be returned. If he/she fail, he she will have another set of "BO5", but only the entitled IP/XP in last set will be returned.

This system is good even an unlucky player is labled botting in one day, since he/she can still enjoy the game (just no IP/XP is rewarded), and the "IP/XP ban" will be automatically relief after 24 hours. Moreover, they will always have a chance to achieve early relief.

3. Allow some IP/XP gain in Co-op v AI - hackers will still try to farm. Yet the best way is to discourage botting in Dom/TT, and meanwhile leaking some opportunity for botting in Co-op v AI, so making least harm. If even after 6 AI games, 1/3 IP/XP can still be obtained, botting will switch to AI games. Of course players can still report "botting" in AI game, but really who cares?

You're wrong to treat Dominion as casual. If you hadn't run into bots, you would have had your ass handed to you by players with even half a clue what they're doing. All maps should be taken seriously, but Dominion especially has insane depth and strategy to the gameplay at high levels. Combine that with the map itself, 20 minutes of full intensity gameplay as opposed to the casual farmfest leading into brief intense fights, then relaxing again as you coast on your gold advantage to free victory that is SR. You can take it casually while you sit in noob elo, just like you can take SR casually at smurf elo. It doesn't mean high-level play is any easier, and with the amount you play SR, you are likely to be completely overwhelmed by how different Dominion really is, and unable to comprehend proper play patterns until you get a LOT more practice on the map.

That aside, the best way to get people to see this IS to swap "first win" for daily quests. The quests would be similar to the bilgewater event quests, having different objectives on different maps. "Win 1 Dominion game", "Drain 1000 total nexus health on Dominion" "Capture 5 altars on TT" "Destroy 12 TT towers." Changing every day.

As far as botting, I have personally never seen any, even on TT where I only have 6 normal wins. To you I suggest just playing through the bots. Farm your elo up to above where the bots can reach.

For others, Riot is obviously incapable of combating bots properly, so they should re-add IP/XP rewards to custom games. It's where the bots used to hide away before they removed it and the bots poured out into your starter elo queues to plague new players.

Playerbase will be split, but that's kind of irrelevant because there's enough players to go around.

The only problem is that simply completing a match doesn't encourage players to take games seriously, so wins should be required. Get people interested in learning how to play so they can get their wins and everything else will fall into place.

I wanna further elaborate the difference between SR and TT/Dom:

In SR, laning phase is very important. Laning is quit exhausting - you need to last hit as much as possible, and meanwhile harrass opponent. However, even if your laning did very well, your game can still be ruined by 1-2 noobs/afk/bots/morons, etc. Even worst, you may still suffer a prolonged game if surrender vote failed.

In Dom, there is no laning phase, and a game lose really fast if it should.

In TT, there is only 3 players, so it is more like "you lose your game" rather then "ally lose your game.

This seems like a horrible idea. Why should someone specifically have to play SR to re-earn IP? That makes about as much sense as forcing someone to play SR draft normals to work off rank restrictions for TT.

I keep suggesting a simple Captcha to keep the bots from even Qing up. I would feel like something like this would be important. It's better to deal with the bots by preventing them from Qing up in the first place.
