Question about ranked 3v3

My friends and I made a team and played 3v3 to make sure it doesn't go inactive. Needless to say we won 4 of our 5 provisionals, and we ended up in Bronze 3. My question is if it is easier to climb in 3v3 or if starting this low on a decent win rate is common? In two of the games we won the enemy team surrendered, is that contributing to our low elo start?
