I understand that we won't be seeing anything concrete about the new SR until it's ready, but it's been a little while since I've seen anything related to where the team is on this project. I for one am certainly looking forward to the VU and the QoL changes that are upcoming with it, so I was just wondering if Riot could give us some form of update on the status (without stalling the progress of the update, of course :P).
Considering the trailer and that they already loaded several parts to the client, I'd say the Rift itself is pretty much done.
They are currently adjusting the old champion textures to match the new look.
And I can't think of anything else they may need to do. So it shouldn't be too long now.
I'm guessing, sadly, that it comes out for Season 5. I only say sadly because that seems so far away. However, it does seem like exactly the type of major change that Riot would make in the offseason.
Well for the past few patches, they have been shipping parts of the new rift out. Obviously nothing is playable yet as they are still working on many things with it, but I feel it will be ready sometime in the next season.
