A better surrender

Everyone knows that once you surrender your nexus blows up and that is it. I propose that once a team surrenders the giant turret that guards the healing base should focus its beam on the nexus and blow it up, or even better the turret stands up and walks over to the nexus and bashes it. Just something that shows real disgrace for a team that ops for surrender.

You know what,i have a suggestion.

What if every Champlain has his own surrender style,i mean like when they surrender, they fall on their knees or something like that.

** It's gonna be kinda complicated,to make a new style for every champion, but if Riot have done that, that would be so damn AWESOME.**'

Interesting suggestions! What about some sort of celebratory ceremony that happens at like, the end of a big event such as a major sports final? Confetti, fireworks, lights dimming, spotlights on the winning team? That could be cool!

BEAM! BIG FRICKIN LAZER!

MrBuffington6/25/2014, 4:00:16 AM6 votes

Turrets carry swords right? They should commit seppuku when you surrender. It only makes sense :P

On the one hand I agree. This would be awesome.
But then again, what if your team is toxic? Or if someone is afk? It would just add to the ridicule of the enemies laugh-spamming.

I'm for the beam variant. I like this idea. :) And i also think that it is a lot easier to animate.

CarbonWyre6/24/2014, 10:29:10 PM4 votes

Gonna go ahead and say there should be an option for "Game is just over, no explosion, no ceremony, just 'Surrendered' appears on the screen and you leave.".

Why do I suggest this? Because, I already feel terrible enough for their support nami being strong enough to 1v3 us, I don't need to feel even worse for surrendering for it.

DanteViero6/25/2014, 12:11:20 AM3 votes

oh come on guys it would be way more epic for the turret to bash the nexus

Teds6/25/2014, 4:57:15 PM2 votes

To add on to this idea, there needs to be a new look to the victory and defeat messages that show up once you win or lose, to match the style of the new map.

Sgt Brunch6/25/2014, 4:14:04 PM2 votes

Yeah agreed, Champions should burst into dance when they win a game not just when Sona ults!

Thanotos Omega6/25/2014, 12:37:06 PM2 votes

This isn't a good idea, They already lost and have to sit through a defeat message, this seems like just wanting to rub it in that they couldn't win,

Best Idea ever <3

How about taking surrendering out all together? Surrendering is only used by people who have decided in their mind that there is no hope in winning or that the game is not going to be over as soon as they would like.

One of three random celebrations would be interesting, it would add some anticipation as to which celebration would occur. Have there be a pause where the players wonder which celebration they will get.

More than that, I think it would be cool if a celebration was based on the winning champs, tying in the world lore. If two or more of a given nation are in the winning team, that would decide the animation.

If two or more Demacians, then a Demacian salute with trumpets, etc...

If two or more Yordles, then a few Yordles pop out and have a celebratory dance.

Two or more Freljordians get an icestorm that destroys the nexus, frosting the area.

Etc...

I know that the blue turret has a hammer with a stone on the front, what if she uses the hammer to destroy the Nexus? The other one doesn't have weapon though. Or it doesn't have to be the turret but the shopkeeper, the one on the blue side can have his... dinosaur? run into the Nexus causing it to explode, and the one on the red side, can send out a huge cannon ball from his ship (i don't have any idea...), or something like that.

I don't see why there should be disgrace in surrendering. There are plenty of games where players want to get out of a game because the players they are with are creating a negative gaming experience. Whether it's the enemy spawn camping you, your own teammates following you around trying to steal every minion and jungle camp you go to, constantly losing 4v5 or 3v5 battles, I find surrendering to be a good option for everyone to depart with minimum suffering. I don't favor making an already negative experience even worse by adding this unnecessary display.

Summoner's Code 6 encourages players to "Show Humility in Victory, and Grace in Defeat"

"Having a great game is one of the biggest joys that League of Legends can bring you. But always bear in mind that when you're relishing that landslide victory there is someone on the receiving end that is probably ripping their hair out. While it's alright to celebrate, make sure that you keep any gloating (or any other mode of self-indulgence) out of all chat."

I'm very glad you liked my idea.

i hope this will help XD

Seems less like a "how disgraceful to surrender" and more like "We're losing on -our- terms, not yours".

With that in mind I think both are cool. But I'd hardly call them the shameful option. I mean really, play some mobas that don't have a surrender button and you too will be sobbing for a "Let me leave this arguing mess of infants" button.

I'd prefer the laser. Lasers are good. Vel'Koz, Viktor and Lux all approve.

Frostbutt6/25/2014, 1:17:33 PM1 votes

I'd rather the turrets started moving, one for each member of the team, and goes and beats the crap out of them, with a 5 way split screen for each champ, showing them getting smashed :D

Nidalee another suggestion. I was wondering how hard it would be to make an option for the UI to be at the top of the screen rather then at the bottom like it is now. reasoning for this is because when you are on the red team you have less visibility of key vission than the blue team when laneing, example, playing a middle lane on red team as nidalee trying to land spears is more difficult because you opponent can hide within the UI (bottom left corner). now if this was able to be placed on the top of the screen you would gain vision of the screen where all the action is. Just a thought i believe it would be A HUGE help to allot of summoners. Thanks for your time. Reply Quote Edit Delete Permalink Add an attachment

Maybe there could be a beam that comes from each of the standing structures on the enemy's side, and it attacks the nexus. About the champion's animations, maybe a cheering kind of thing for the victorious side, and maybe a facepalm or something light on the enemy's side. no excessive death needed. Maybe if there's an enemy near an ally, they shake hands in a sign of Good Game. Wouldn't it be cool to see a Kayle shake hands with her fallen sister, Morgana? Let's face it, if you're down by 30 kills, 3 barons and 20 dragons, do you really want to see your champion die again? I think it would be humiliating.
