Why aren't you able to gain mastery points in Dominion?

Even though there aren't much people playing Dominion, I don't quite understand why you aren't able to gain mastery points in that mode. In Aram its somehow selfexplaining as you get a random champion but in Dominion you are choosing which champ you want to play yourself. It's like queueing up at summoners rift except that you are playing a different mode and map. WIll you be able to get mastery points in the future or is there a problem with the calculation of mastery points and the mode itself?

Sad how LoL community is hard to discuss stuff if you aren't in the mainstream side of things. They say they may implement it in other modes. I hope that includes Dominion since it IS a competitive mode despite Riot effort to kill it.

If it would involve coding something for Dominion, that might take a few years (I still don't think they've updated minions? I forget).

If it involves flipping a switch, well... we know how that goes. LOL

Presumably they didn't have time to figure out how to calculate mastery points for the mode. Hopefully when/if they add the system to Dom, mastery points aren't linked to personal score.

I'm pretty sure the Mastery calculation uses stuff like KDA, wards placed, kill contribution, and minion kills as metrics.

Literally all of those don't work or would need to be HEAVILY adjusted for Dominion, which is so compartmentalized between top/bottom, has no wards, and minimal minion farming (except in botlane).

Note that you don't get Mastery in Twisted Treeline or Howling Abyss, either.

I understand not having it in Dominion since there are a lot of true bots in that game mode. But I do believe that there should be mastery points available in the Twisted Treeline. They could make it less points earned, but points still being earned (similar to the IP calculation difference between SR and TT).

P.S. Please make a "Voli the Pooh" skin.

Dominion?

What's that, an S&M club?

Well there are two problems here for Dominion: the first being calculating points itself would be hard (read around forums recently and the current personal score system is considered broken by high MMR dominion players) and the second is cross map issues. If you had someone mastery 5 X champion and they only played Dominion/ARAM/Twisted Treeline and then went to Summoner's Rift their teammates would be misinformed on how skilled the player might be on SR. What Riot could do is if they find a way to properly calculate mastery points is have map specific masteries.
