No More Gold Players Ending Up in Bronze
I know its nearly impossible to know where to place people based on the 10 placement games they've played. My idea was to completely remove the 10 placement games in order to decide your rank, but instead to measure the statistics of the levels leading up to level 30. Of course this method would only work for new players but I think it would be much more efficient. I was thinking of keeping a record of the statistics of levels 25-30 of the player and using those statistics to place the player into his/her appropriate rank. Players will not just be placed on their wins/loses or their kdr ratio in the player's winning and losing games, but also their growth. If the player has been gradually increasing their skill rate, their might be placed higher compared to a constant skill rate where the player hasn't been improving. This method of rank placement could also be tracked by the player at level 25, giving everyone a chance to look forward to level 25, instead of dreading over 5 more levels until ranked. Once players reach level 25, they can track their success by seeing what rank they would be placed in at the moment. I'm not sure if this is the best idea since many people are already level 30 and this method would only work for everyone's very first season, although it would be a good way to start. Maybe someone can expand on this idea, comment and criticize any ideas you want to bring up.
We all know how many toxic players there are out there so I also think there should be a chat restriction before anyone has to get punished. Everyone will be given 1-2 chat messages in ranked games at level 30 to get in the habit of only talking at necessary times. If the player does not get reported for negative attitude, verbal abuse..etc, then eventually they will be giving additional chat messages per minute.
This is my first post and I just joined PBE testing, so I'm sorry if this isn't in the right catagory (not really sure which one this would belong in) or if this idea has been previously announced.
P.S. - Last season was my first and i joined in the middle of the season as bronze. I kept working my way up (being a dumb noob and trying to carry by picking support to try to get the adc fed) and got to gold but the season ended. This season (2015) I played one ranked game, lost, and decided to quit bronze, not wanting to get put back through thousands of toxic idiots who really don't know what they're doing.
