One team was changed to the color red and the Nexus no longer has the five summoners around it, does anyone know why?

The colorchange to red probably has something to do with clarity. The summoners not being around the nexus is because, if it wasn't obvious to people by now, the League in League of legends is slowly being phased out.

Ever notice how new champions or those undergoing an overhaul have 0 dialogue relating to Summoners or The League? Their lore? Same thing. Most of the lore in the game has been stripped down to bare essentials, give them a couple of paragraphs, slap in some canned dialogue to simulate rivalries, and call it a job done.

Journal of Justice? Champion Judgement? Actual plots? Too much to ask for apparently.

Apologies for the mini-rant, it just pains me to see so much effort going into this Summoner's Rift rework but the lore of the game collects dust and tumbleweeds. It's like looking at Google Images of old abandoned amusement parks, to see something amazing fall into decay.

While those small things are nice, you can easily put that into the same boat as canned dialogue. The Journal of Justice and it's newsletter provided a lot of insight into the world of Runeterra beyond the sliver you see when playing matches. Want to know why your champions respawn? Why they start weak every match? Why all these seemingly doll-like minions constantly follow the same pathways to their doom? Why Kayle and Morgana, rival sisters who would kill each other at first glance could be on the same team? Explained with in-lore logic through the JoJ. LoL is the only MOBA I know of to actually go the distance to try and actually explain why and how these things happen, and why you are even fighting.

This isn't about the subtle character interactions in any given match, those have only improved, but it seems to have come at the cost of the "bigger picture". Aside from the tiny snippets in a new Champion's lore, you aren't going to hear more about Runeterra, or what is happening in it. You can't ask the champions (or the other host of characters JoJ presented during it's span) questions as if you were indeed a summoner.

There are no Summoners anymore, and there is no League. It's a Gathering of Legends fighting on Something-or-other Rift for Some Reason.
