The second game down with the Gnar, ranked 3s. Is there a reason why our Gold 1 team was matched against a Challenger team that had 0 losses?

It uses your solo queue MMR and your team MMR together.
So if you are in a group with 3 people and one is silver 1 is gold and 1 is plat The other team will mostly have a team comprised of the same skill, BUT.... IF YOU HAVE A FRESH TEAM WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF GAMES PLAYED, then you have a chance to go against high elo teams.

Thanks for explaining that. But does that mean in order for us to play against Golds and Plats we have to play more games against these teams that are of higher elo than us? Unless I'm reading into what you said wrong. It looks like we need more games on our team to level out our elo?
