Skipping Promos On Twisted Treeline

Ok me and my friends were doing our ranked 3's tonight and the last game we won gave us 64 points. Assuming becuase we beat 2 plats and a diamond( Im gold, one friend is bronze and other is plat so technically we were severely outranked here). Instead of being put in promotions for S2 we were immediately sent to S1 with no promo games required. None of us know how it happened and I cant find anything about how TT works with Promo's anywhere. If anyone knows what happened and can tell me id appreciate it.

WHY DOES EVERYONE EARN DIFFERENT AMOUNTS OF LEAGUE POINTS? If your MMR is significantly lower than where the system believes you should be for the division you are in, then your LP gains will be reduced and LP loss will be increased. Alternatively, if your MMR is significantly higher compared to the average your current tier or division, you will gain more LP and lose less. You may even skip promotion series or advance multiple tiers if your MMR significantly outweighs your league.

To add on to this, you always have to do your Tier promotion series regardless of your MMR; you'll never skip past it.

Riot actually changed it (early this season? or last season) to where you can skip your Tier promo series if your MMR is high enough.

I'll have to look for that then. The only Rioter comment I saw would've been prior to that, so I'd like to find an update so I can cite it later.

Yeah, it was changed so you can skip both divs and tiers.

If you find official confirmation, please share. I'm relatively sure my teams/I have skipped Tier promo series before, but I could be mistaken.

I found a picture off a thread about this that shows something I didn't know about;

It shows that the info right there changes according to what will happen, so you'll know if you're going to skip your series or divisions. I always assumed it stayed the same "Get 100 points then win 2/3 3/5 promo games to advance".

I think the way the support article I linked initially states it, it might actually be saying you can skip tiers. Hard to tell if I was misinterpreting it or if it's just a little too vague.

Don't fool yourself. You were 3 silvers against 3 silvers. It was an even match. You weren't outranked by any means.

yea cuz when we go to their profiles and they are plat and diamond 5's riots lieing to us right, dont be salty on the forums just because you have no skill at the game

No, I'm stating a fact. By your own admission, your team was silver 2. Theirs was also silver 2 or close to it. Their SR rank doesn't apply to TT which you were playing, and that specific skill clearly doesn't translate between maps.
