Ranked Aram
So i was randomly thinking that Ranked ARAM games would be super fun. Completely different rankings from draft games so that it doesn't mess up your ranking there. Lemme know if any thinks its a cool idea??

...even if It even did happen, which I doubt it would, I wouldn't take part in it, for several reasons:
1- People hardly take 5V5 RANKED seriously. Nobody gives two shits about aram in general and there are afk people almost once every other match. Ranked aram would be a nightmare because people yolo too much in it. 2- The game mode is too hard to balance, item-wise. For example: Locket of Iron Solari gives that perma team buff and you're always with your team. 3- The game mode is too hard to balance, champion-wise. If it's truly random, you could get a team of nothing but adcs and if nobody has re-rolls, you're gonna get destroyed.
Im just not seeing it happen, and even if It did, like I said I wouldnt wanna be a part of it. There are too many trolls in regular Ranked as is.
Comp is a really big deal in ARAM, but you might not notice it til high elo when there is very little difference in player skill. At that point comp decides the matchup most of the time (and this is why smurfs ruin the mode, though this is less of an issue now).
you need a competitive environment to make something ranked or competitive. Getting random champions where they are no all equal and you have little to no say what one you get makes it extremely uncompetitive. It's meant for fun and to relax with a shorter game mode but still everyone's favorite game. Kind of like how Cs Go has a team death match mode and others but the competitive is search and destroy only and on certain maps.
As much as I like the idea of ranking on Aram , it won't really work. A.R.A.M. = All Random All Mid. Due to that there are some people (A LOT OF PEOPLE) only buying the so call OP-ARAM champ, the 3 queen (sona, lux, kat.) and the spam king (Ziggs). or the ARAM triforce-MTC, Monkey, Tree, Cow.
As result, if someone had a lot of champions, they often ran to unfavorable situation. (for instance, every time I am on a 5+ win streak, all of sudden , the next 5 games I will be given, yasuo (with no knock-up teammate.) eve, and garen,... etc. )
Chance does not equal skill.
Right now I'm trying to find enough players to set up tournaments for Draft Pick on Howling Abyss, so it would be like a normal ARAM, but you can ban and select champs. They would be community event tournaments so there would be prizes for the winners. I'm also looking into a way to rank people based on their performance within these tournaments to accurately represent their skill level (and am willing to take any suggestions on how to handle the rankings.)
If you're interested in it, let me know. If I can get enough support for the idea, I can start planning the tournaments and get the approval from Riot.
This is the link to where I made a post about it in the forums: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/summoners-rift/yTcr7nGA-all-draft-all-mid
I disagree with those who say it shouldn't be ranked just because it is random champions or people won't take it seriously. I have played with friends who don't really play much and see a significant difference in the skill level of the players we are matched up with compared to those I play with when I queue up solo since I have played so many games. There is actually a lot of skill involved with mastering as many champions as possible so that no matter what champ you get stuck with you can better contribute to your team more consistently. Not only that but the more champs you have and master equals the more champs that you can trade with your team to organize the best comp and give players the champs they excel the most with. I pretty much always trade because chances are that if the person wants the champion they are experienced/like to play that champ. Also there is strategy to rolling in order to round out your comp, such as not all AD, AP or tank. The roll system and minimum number of champs owned may need to be adjusted if there were a ranked system but that wouldn't be much trouble. I understand it wouldn't be necessarily "balanced", but everyone still has the same advantages and disadvantages and its all about who masters the parts that can be controlled. Even mechanics and decision making are very overlooked. I've seen many diamond players who probably got there from playing there same 4 or 5 champs, but then they come to ARAM and get completely dumpstered because they don't know their champ or how and when to engage on the murder bridge. Let the "It's just ARAM" players still have their normal queue to just screw around while there is no harm in having a ranked queue so that those who want to be competitive can have fun seeing how they stack up and enjoy the challenge and the mode itself.
You would need a draft mode. I haven't heard too many good arguments against a draft based All Mid mode. It would be as balanced as your choice and would have to be taken seriously. I'm tired of people not caring, and tanky champions not tanking and ruining my time trying to win.
So the prerequisite's would be:
Level 30 (Duh)
Own all champions
Be in good standing and considered non-toxic (30 or negative/lost less Tribunal cases)
the pick ban phase will be back and forth one at a time 15 seconds each. (turn will end once ban is completed)
Everyone gets to ban one champion then all are blocked except the random button and you can only hit it once(no re-rolls)
If you fail to click the random button a random champion will be assigned(
)
If you fail to ban on your turn a random champion will be banned(
)
Flawed by design.
You cannot practice your champ beforehand, and you will often get screwed over by blind luck (5
s vs 5
s)
ARAM is great for fucking around, but doesnt really work in a serious context
I voted yes, but Riot has already proven that they don't care about people who take ARAM seriously with the addition of mark/dash. Learned how to play ARAM tanks better than most of my competition all for nothing.
