Should Riot Change Their Ranking System?

As a member of the community, I've noticed on common complaint about the ranking system for LoL: "I've been stuck in (bronze/silver/etc.), when I should be in (gold/plat/etc.) because of the awful teammates I always get paired with. Although this is taken as an unserious complaint in most games and discussions, my question is: why not hear them out?

What if the ranking system was reworked so that they took into account the win/loss AND the individual performance of the player? Essentially, it takes higher performing players (the ones that carry games while the rest of the team is failing for whatever reason) and rewards them for being the good players, rather than saying "well you got a bad team... I guess you have to suffer."

I believe that a system based more like this would put players who are actually good into higher ELOs and have less effect of bad teammates on your own ranking. This would be especially helpful in low ELOs like bronze and silver (the rankings with the most AFKs and feeders and so forth) I know plenty of people who carry games yet still lose due to bad teammates and are therefore in 'ELO hell' in a sense.

Let me and Riot know your opinion of a new ranking system based on both wins/losses AND individual performances by up or down voting this conversation. Also leave a comment on why you're for or against this idea!
