RPG mode

I know everyone loves the way this game is set up. League of Legends is a great game. But with the introduction of these new cinematic videos, it gives rise to new insight on the characters. What I am suggesting is an old fashioned RPG inside the league, where you play from the characters perspective. If we could do the things you are showing on the cinematics, it would add a whole new perspective. The new format would bring whole new ways you could use the landscape to your advantage, the gameplay would be more personal, and i think it would bring in a few new players. You could keep the same goal as the nexus. You could even develop one or more new maps for it. This idea is not a replacement to the original format, but a mode of play like dominion or aram.

Sounds cool.

This would require tons of work and would be like an entire new game, Riot could expand more if they really wanted to, and become almost a whole new game company entirely, using the league as their icon, sort of like nintendo with mario, making new types of games etc. all based around this one concept, but that isn't something that is very probable. Its an idea, but unlikely to happen. item 3070 item 3070

My answer to this type of proposal is always yes. However there exist some fan avenues to augment the lack of continued character development in League right now.

For example, have you ever heard of LeagueFactions? A good friendly group that will play in story arcs on specific factions (such as Demacia, Zaun, Noxus, etc). Some of the members even have RPGs, table-top style.

Its not perfect, but its something. I would love Riot to release more official lore, and an RPG featuring some of League's characters would be AWESOME!

Check out LeagueFactions if you're interested: http://leaguefactions.net/

So a campaign?

That would take forever, and I'd rather that Rito focus their resources on more important matters.

I don't think it would be an effective game-mode anyways, several champions are outdated and their lore have kind started to go to rot and ruin.
