[Twisted Treeline] Has there been any official stance taken by Riot on the IP farming bots in 3v3s?

(Hope this is in the right board. you guys can move it if you need to right?)

To start off, I consider myself patient. I was even willing to sit through a couple of matches with bots in them. As long as, there were more matches without bots than with them. But the problem is just getting worse. Today I sat through two games where I was the only person not using a bot. I sat through a game where there was another person on my team and one person on the enemy team. I sat through a game where the only other person was on the enemy team. I haven't played a 3v3 normal match without a bot in, I don't even know how long. I can't remember the last time.

I play almost exclusively 3v3s. It is my favorite game mode. I find the pacing much more invigorating than the pacing of a 5v5. That is why it is frustrating to watch this decay of the 3v3 community. This is a self feeding problem. As the number of bots increases people stop playing 3v3s which means that there is a higher density of bots. A higher density of bots causes people to leave which causes... and so on.

I've seen in a few patch notes or updates that they have been banning people for using bots. That's all well and good but it isn't proving very effective. I sadly lack an alternative for this method (mostly due to a lack of knowledge of league's programming.) It would just be nice to get an official response. To know that riot sees this as an issue and is working on fixing it. I didn't come here to incite flaming or any of that. Just an honest query from a TT player.

Now before any of you forum savvy guys come in here and say that this thread is a duplicate or any of that; let me make my case. I have searched high and low for an official response from riot on this issue. I have found none. I found only one other thread SPECIFICALLY looking for a response from riot and none was given. There are tons of threads pertaining to this issue, however they differ in that they are either someone asking if people are actually using bots or someone asking why people would be using bots. There were a couple of other miscellaneous threads I saw, but none with the same purpose as this thread. If you find one with an official response, or an official response on the LoL website feel free to point it out and this thread can be locked or whatever.

Other than the above points, I'd love to see; just for curiosities sake; how many people who have played a lot of 3v3s in the past have stopped because of this exact issue. Anyway, that wraps up the OP I guess.

Ha I just posted something as well. I'm with you. An official response with actions being taken would be nice.

As to whether I'll stop playing treeline, I am now logging into other games when I only have 30ish minutes or so to play. It's just not worth possibly running across these bots. It's a shame because this game (even Twisted Treeline) is a ton of fun.

People are using bots to farm IP now? They used to just be for farming XP to sell level 30 accounts. Bots have been around for years, starting with custom games. They migrated to Co-op games once Riot removed/nerfed the rewards, and then eventually to PvP games.

Anyway, you've evidently already seen the bot ban wave notice. There really isn't much else Riot can say besides "We're working on stopping botters." Going in-depth could just make it easier for bot writers to avoid notice. Yeah, It'd be nice to have regular confirmations that they're still trying to solve the problem, but the last notice was only about a month ago.

Oh, and various sidenotes.

This is a self feeding problem. As the number of bots increases people stop playing 3v3s which means that there is a higher density of bots. A higher density of bots causes people to leave which causes... and so on.

The "vicious cycle" argument didn't really work the last time it was used. The Dominion community tried arguing for better support, and Ghostcrawler showed up almost purely to confirm that RIot knows what a vicious cycle is. The community took that about as well as expected.

I'm not entirely sure where you've been looking, but there's been a massive number of threads complaining about bots and/or asking for a response from Riot. Here's the aforementioned bot ban wave notice. Here's an old thread about Co-op where the Rioter in charge of alternate maps said he'd try to forward the issue.

They have posted responses, they recently had a big bot ban wave, just hard to prevent this stuff.
