What does the community think about Ranked ARAM queues?

Hey guys, as the title already suggests i'd like to poll about ranked aram queues, this is an idea i came up with recently and some of my personal friends already agreed with me that it's a great idea.

A couple of my questions include: What is your thought about Ranked ARAM queues? How much do you play ARAM? Would you play ARAM more often if a ranked queue was available? If a ranked queue was available, what queue would you prefer most? Normals or ARAM?

Any other type of feedback is welcome, just make sure it's feedback ;)

Thank you for your time! Flurpaderp

Not gonna happen. Riot won't even consider a semi-draft mode where team captains ban champions, then every is assigned a randomly-picked champion.

Riot won't even consider a ranked mode for Dominion; no way is ARAM getting ranked if Riot won't enable ranked for Dominion (or solo queue ranked for Twisted Treeline, for that matter).

People can manipulate their champs owned, also, it's random. People will get screwed because their teams will always have Sion, Poppy, and Quinn. While the other team gets Nidalee, Xerath, and good ADCs. Never going to happen.

What if instead of putting ARAM into account for the current ranked system we had a second rank list just for it? The game matching would be just as it is today, all random (ARam, right?). The only difference is that people would be benefited by a different rank system, playing with and against players that are as committed as themselves.

I know that this game mode is intended to be a fun and relaxed one but it is really frustrating when you're trying your best to win a game and someone decides to feed, leave the game or play carelessly just because they don't like the champion they get.

About the smurf accounts, people with only OP champs, and etc, maybe Riot could make available all the champions once you reach a certain level.

I hope I made myself clear as English is not my native language.

this is just what i was thinking! make it a separate ranking list, and enable ALL champs. as for OP's questions...

What is your thought about Ranked ARAM queues? it would be fun to have a rankings system, but it would be hard to implement and most people would view it as unnecessary.

How much do you play ARAM? i currently have 1082 ARAM games played, not counting the MANY MANY times i played it before we had a map!

Would you play ARAM more often if a ranked queue was available? certainly, but it's also the only mode i really play as of now anyway.

If a ranked queue was available, what queue would you prefer most? Normals or ARAM? ARAM, because i hate normals. so does that count? i really like the pressure being gone of having to make a good pick. also i enjoy the team fights in league, not pushing and objective control..

The game is a little more than 5 years old. I'm rather new to the game, playing it for about one year, but I think the current rank system has been running since the beginning. It probably have been through countless improvement cycles through all this years. In my humble opinion, as a software developer, it shouldn't be so hard do extend and/or customize an feature like that in this stage of the project.

For the 3rd and 4th questions, I don't know if I would play it more often, but I'll certainly enjoy it more. When I play with my roommate - which is ranked already - we tend to play ARAM because is quicker and we usually have to do something afterwards, whereas when I'm alone I like to play normal for a change. It really doesn't matter the game mode, playing with people far less committed as you are is always frustrating. And it goes for both ways. You might be at a committed team, winning a game in less than 15 minutes, this game isn't as much fun as the one that last longer with both teams doing good plays, both teams on the verge of ending the game, both teams afraid of giving the enemy an ACE. That kind of tension defines a good and enjoyable game for me, whether I win or lose it.

Another point to consider is the players behaviour. People uncommitted to the game is usually the ones who harass other players. On the flip side, people playing seriously tend to be way more helpful - teaching builds, tactics - and humorous - making jokes or even making fun of both teams in a healthy an enjoyable manner -.

What is your thought about Ranked ARAM queues? It would be a fun change but IDK if I would want to risk my states on a random team of champions... Also would we still have 3 ban's a team?

How much do you play ARAM? Around 2 times a week.

Would you play ARAM more often if a ranked queue was available? I'd play it more when it first comes out but I will gravitate back to the 5v5 SR.

If a ranked queue was available, what queue would you prefer most? Normals or ARAM? Normals

would be epic that we can play ranked in aram, alot people will play it, just for each side 5 champions to ban cuz some champs are just so terrible op in that map :P

hope u do it and i'm a really happy person

i would support ranked ARAM mode, but only if ANY AND ALL CHAMPIONS can be selected for all players, that way no one can manipulate the rosters.

Have you thought of what the requirements will be to join ARAM ranked queues? Cuz you will have people making new accounts and just buying the champions who are considered OP on that map.

Luck will be an enormous factor in how good you will do, not so much skill.

Cheers

the skill to adapt to whatever you get will be crucial to climbing, which i think is awesome since it's a different thing thats required than normals (although general skill always counts). luck is also slightly mitigated by the ability to reroll a really bad roll

As long as it is impossible to create ranked teams for ARAM that allows you to create a good team combo (think about tanks,support,adc...) ranked ARAM is going to be possible.

Literally way to luck based of a mode to be possible

Impossible. Considering the current unbalance within the game, ARAM will not work.

If they made different ranked rules maybe. With the amount of lp you get with wins/losses i think it would work. I was never big into ranked because of work so I didn't have the time to play multiple 40-50 minute games a day. On top of it the new rift map makes me ill. The visuals are too much for me on all settings. Same thing with dota. It makes me motion sick. I still would like to play ranked and get into it but now it is impossible for me too. Ranked ARAM would be amazing for me. I'd get a chance to try out ranked and not be motion sick the whole way through.

if we get ranked aram before ranked dominion, I'll be mad. aram is literally random, even if they expand everyone's champ pool. I barely aram now, so I'd definitely not do it ranked. when I do play it, I don't play it to be serious and try my best to win every game.

I'd be challenger lmao 10/10 rito pls aram rank

  1. Ranked ARAM sounds interesting. Flawed, but interesting.
  2. Fairly often; Most days I play League it's for ARAM.
  3. Probably. Maybe more than I play ranked now, but not by much I assume.
  4. Neither. I'm not a fan of tension-playing trying to be pro at this game. I just want to play chill.

So the prerequisite's would be: Level 30 (Duh) Own all champions Be in good standing and considered non-toxic (30 or negative/lost less Tribunal cases) the pick ban phase will be back and forth one at a time 15 seconds each. (turn will end once ban is completed) Everyone gets to ban one champion then all are blocked except the random button and you can only hit it once(no re-rolls) If you fail to click the random button a random champion will be assigned(Teemo ) If you fail to ban on your turn a random champion will be banned(Teemo )
