This discussion is intended as a repository for any feedback you may have about Summoner's Rift, including feedback about upcoming visual updates.

I cannot promise to implement every piece of feedback or even respond to each post, but any piece of feedback on this thread will be read and considered by a member of the Environment Art team. If you have a critique and you want to guarantee that it is going to be heard, this is the place to put it.

I would like the range for buying items to be centered on the spawn point, not on the merchant. As a support main, this is frustrating to see toplaners move twice farther before purchasing.

Just wanted to add a question/suggestion that annoys me, and hopefully I can get some answers.

Some abilities allow you to pass through some walls which are fine, the thing that bugs me is for example is if you're doing Wraiths, now Razorbeaks, some champions like Vi when she uses her E for example, the effects clearly go through the camp's wall and is a dead giveaway to enemy champions if they're near.

Is this intended?

If not, I would like to add the suggestion of blocking the visual for AOE abilities such as that over impassable camp walls.

My main gripes are about mechanics.

Things like camps full-resetting after 10 resets (I believe it should either be no full reset or reset after 2-3 semi-resets) or the discrepancy of wall hopping between dashes and blinks (blinks need to do half the distance while dashes need a full clear).

Art-wise, I simply don't understand why the bot lane isn't green and lush like the bot side jungle is.

Optimization for minions. even on live I go from 200+ fps to 100+ fps because of how poorly coded/optimized the minions are (lower their poly counts on animation/they themselves to improve lower system proformance!)

I was asked to repost this by a red, so i did. Its very important this issue is addressed. Because It can be the difference between a 120+ fps game and a 80+ fps game(every frame matters) And thats not even getting into teamfights where your computer has to process champs AND the minions. It can be a lot to handle on a system thats even slightly old.

All I'm saying is be conservative as possible with the new map and try your best to improve any issues the old one had. The biggest for me was minions, some other people may have other issues but this one is the most apparent. OH WAIT i just remembered When you open the shop. I still to this day drop 150+ frames (200+ -to 20-60ish) when I open the shop and buy an item. I have no idea what causes that frame drop but my god is it annoying. it freezes the game sometimes for 2-4 seconds for me.

It would be nice if there was a slightly bigger contrast between fog of war and non fog of war (not on the mini-map, the actual map itself). In the darker area's of the map it can be kinda difficult to tell the difference between the two unless you have an actual ward nearby and you are able to see the differences close together.

Just here to say that I am trying my hardest to be patient and wait for the new SR to go live, but I am having a hard time. It's just so beautiful. Great job everyone at Riot who helped with such an outstanding piece of art!

In a different thread, someone posted a quote from a (in)famous dragon. A couple WoW related jokes were made. Making a joke about the towers in the Stormwind Gates being on fire for 2 & 1/2 years, and The Park that got #rekt (lol, getting under the map from there was the best! Oh, pre-CATA days, how I miss you so.) it sparked an idea. Time to babble less about a different game that alot of people hate (and I still love), and get to the point!

Deathwing's destruction of the WoW in game map got me thinking. Wouldn't it be kinda cool to see a magma/desolated/hell themed summoners rift? Maybe make more fire-themed skins for champs to go along with the ones we have (like Firefang Warwick, Brand, Wildfire Zyra, etc)

Another idea I had (with more thought) came to mind. There are A LOT of Void themed champions! Anyone remember the first cinematic? Ryze was running from Nocturne in that nightmarish, desolate place? Maybe a Void themed Summoners Rift? I think that would be cool. It could come with a new Void champion too, and have a big event like the Shurima event with Azir. In-game challenges, Rewards, a cool story to go with it, the works!

Some thoughts/ideas that could make it cool

  • A new (void-themed) champ

  • A Void themed temp re-skin of Summoners Rift

  • A story/lore site, like the one for the Freljord and Shurima

  • A new temp game-mode

  • Summoners Rift appearance ideas:

  • replace trees with rock-ish pillars (kinda like the ones seen in the first Cinematic, the ones Ryze was jumping over while running away from Nocturne)

  • replace water with weird, blackish mirk

  • Lighting is grim, dark, to set the mood (like the Doom Bot game-mode)

  • Make colors more grim/dark themed

  • replace torches with flaming skulls on spears

  • Make baron look more scary (maybe kinda like the SR update baron)

  • make Golems/bluebuff less mossy, and more on fire, Lizard on fire, Wolves skeletal and decaying, and make Wraiths/Wright completely black

  • enemy Health-bars turn blood red, friendly turn dark blue

  • Special Interactions between the champions and the map (ex: Rengar could make a comment on how hes even harder to see when he enters either Jungle)

  • ground is dark grey/black with various details like spilled blood/guts

  • Bushes look dead/decaying

  • give the general look of the place a really creepy/ominous feel to it

Anyways, any of you guys got any cool event ideas? Or anything to add on to mine? I think it would be really cool to see a Void event.

Are you still working on a clear difference for the limits of the fountain (this is where you get shot by the laser if you step in). And what happened to the VO of the shop keepers? Will they have a voice at least?

Golems/Krugs still aren't mirrored properly last time I checked, in the blue bottom side you'll meet the small one first and in the red top side you'll meet the big one first. If you do change it make it so you meet the big one first since that's the one you'll want to target as a jungler most of the time.
