Story of Valoran
(No this is not lore, this is a game mode) So we have all the normal LoL modes all about session-based dota type matches. But in league we don't have any true PVE mode, in this mode players would select a champion (savable & deletable) (would not be different from champs in normal modes. The difference being on champs who have enemy champ only targets like karth ult in which case it would need to be changed to hit regular enemies in that mode) and progress through the actual story of Valoran itself, participating in battles between Demacia and Noxus, Noxus and Ionia, in the world vs the Shadow Isles. Acquiring items and how you use them would be very different of course, but this would offer an alternative to PVP all the time. A sample build for lets say Varus early in the story might just be a recurve bow or a health crystal, later on he might have a lot more.
Now some might ask "Isn't level 18 the cap?" and while that might be true in pvp, perhaps that could be extended to allow players to level their abilities to even greater heights and perhaps even different effects to even perhaps take on different difficulties of it.
Possible New Item Examples:
Basics
Dorans Bow: +6% attack speed +60 life + 5 attack damage.
Dorans Hymn + 10 hp/5 10 mana/5 to self and nearby allies.
Legendary items unique to a specific set of characters acquirable in certain areas
Bow of the Eternal Hunter + 50 Attack Damage +30% attack speed Unique Passive + 75 range Unique active- Gleaming Arrows: Next 3 attacks or next 6 seconds do not apply on hit effects, abilities may not be used however basic attacks deal (2level)% bonus damage and restore 60 + (Lifesteal)% of damage dealt as life. (so like if they do 100 damage, and have 10% lifesteal already it would be 70) May only be used by Ashe, Varus, Jayce(ranged), Vayne.
Now once again we come to another thing people might see as complication, lore and the bosses themselves within PVE story mode, one might find fighting exactly nasus just harder lame. But they wouldn't be the same, bosses would have a plethora of new abilities even if they are same characters, and would be a lot stronger. But before you even reach a boss, you'd have to fight mobs that aren't idle minions, you'd be participating in a multi-player PVE combat, think fighting an extremely hard jungle thats a lot more interactive than them just having regular attacks.
Example of an area- Shuriman Desert Outskirts
Example mobs:
Desert Bandits- Comes in a pack of:
Four Desert Slayers, Three Desert Crossbowmen, (on occasion) Bandit Battlemage
Desert Slayer- Moderate life, moderate damage, low speed Ability- Wild Charge- Blindly dashes forward, dealing damage and stopping upon first impact of an enemy.
Desert Crossbowmen- Low Life, High Damage, Low Speed One of two abilities each. Ability- Sandlash- shoots a powerful bolt into the sand around an area, knocking it up and blinding enemies in an area for 2 seconds and reducing their vision. High Cooldown Ability - Jagged-Edged Bolt- Impales an enemy with a jagged bolt, dealing 3-6% of an enemies max life each second for two seconds. Moderate Cooldown
Bandit Battlemage (Rare) - High Life, High Damage, Moderate speed Ability- Sand Cocoon- Encases an enemy in a shell of pure sand, suffocating an enemy for 2 seconds they are suppressed, invulnerable to other outside damage taking 10% of their max life each second. High Cooldown Ability- Quake the Earth- erupts an area of sand around the battlemage, dealing moderate damage and reducing nearby foes armor and magic resist by 3% for each stack. lasts until the battlemage is slain and can stack up to 40 times. Moderate Cooldown Ability- Whirlpool- Rips the sand into a giant whirlpool, starting at a large range outwards with a radius of about 85 units, as it pulls in upon contact with an enemy it deals low damage, dealing 15% MORE damage with every consecutive attack each second and dragging enemies with it. the whirlpool vanishes 2 seconds after it reaches the center. EXTREME Cooldown (if focused right, a battlemage AT MOST would get this off once)
Desert Crock- (Large, often found singularly)
High Life, Moderate Damage, Low Speed
Ability- Snapping Jaw- Deals Moderate damage Moderate cooldown Ability- Insanity- Consumes 10% of its max life (at 50%) gaining 30% more damage and speed, Snapping Jaw's Cooldown is reduced by about 1.5 seconds
Sample Boss- Renekton, Butcher of the Sands (Im aware this is a character... again he'll be different.)
This is a 2 phase boss fight.
Fury- For every 1% of life renekton loses, he deals and takes 1% more damage.
Phase 1- The Maddened
Renekton strikes out at the champions with swift-fierce blows, expecting to take them out easily
Devastating Blow- Renekton Strikes downward, dealing massive damage in front of him and reducing armor of targets hit by 15% High Cooldown
Insanity Syndrome- Renekton calls to the spirits of those hes plagued with his madness, summoning either two desert slayers, a desert crossbowmen, or after a 30 second delay a Bandit Battlemage. Moderate Cooldown
Cull The Meek (his normal Q, but quite a bit different) Renekton whirls his blade in a circle around him each second for 3 seconds, dealing moderate damage to enemies near him each strife, if he lands three Cull's in a single cast, he summons a Bandit Battlemage. High Cooldown
Ruthless Predator (His normal w, but different) Renekton gathers his rage for two seconds, afterwords he slices forward in a relentless manner striking forward four times in a range of 125, enemies hit are stunned. If this hits atleast two enemies, he summons four desert slayers. High Cooldown
Slice and Dice (His normal E, but again, somewhat different) Renekton gouges the nearest enemy upon his blade, dealing low damage, he then charges forth driving the blade through them dealing moderate damage over 1.5 seconds and knocking up enemies hit among the way, if he knocks up atleast two enemies in this way, He summons two desert crossbowmen. High Cooldown
Blade Lash- Renekton focuses on the player who has hurt him the most, tossing his blade with impossible accuracy it impales enemies whirling them in a large circle around renekton for 2 seconds dealing moderate damage each second, he then leaps forward, grabbing the blade with the player still lodged and slams them into the sand, stunning them for an additional second dealing high damage. Extreme Cooldown
Phase 2- Pure Insanity. Renekton becomes scared, enraged, and purely mad at the agony he has sustained during the fight. he fights back for his life with all hes got, taking 30% extra damage but casting Cull The Meek, Ruthless Predator, Slice and Dice, and Blade Lash more often (Moderate, Moderate, Moderate, High in order) He gains the ability Sand Storm
Sand Storm- Every second renekton deals one damage to all enemy players, increasing in 100% damage every second as this is true damage, it can not be avoided (focushim down before sand storm whittles you out!)
Upon defeat players will be able to retrieve items for themselves (no thieves, you dirty trolls!) and Renekton will fall to the ground, barely alive thanking the champions for freeing him of his insanity. all remaining spectres of Desert bandits, crossbowmen, or bandit battlemages will fade, finally released from the same curse renekton was under.
(after this, the champions would continue to forge onward to the ruins of Shurima, having heard of the empire Azir is trying to rise once again in his power-hungry state (who knows, maybe youll have to fight nasus to get him to join you, for without him and his brother Azir might just be unconquerable! hint hint)
If people see this as a good Idea and would like to see more of it, I will post more examples of the boss fights including more of the Shuriman desert, counting Nasus, Xerath, Cassiopeia, Rek'Sai, and whats all that without Azir, Perhaps you might have to fight, free, or even slay the Descendant princess Sivir.
